THE PRAISES OF VICTORY NEWS LETTER

TINA LEE EDITOR

Dislikes of being a Bishop’s Wife

I explained in the last article what it was like being a Bishop Wife and the excitement it brings.  Like Pastors wives, it becomes a struggle knowing and seeing your husband get beat up by members and other colleagues’ and nothing you can do about it.
Women that marry men in the gospel have to be just as humble and

forgiving as their husband.  As women of  God, we are held to the
same high standard as our husband.  What the world do, we cannot do.  For example, many Pastors wives wear paints to church for one reason or other.  I see nothing wrong with it as long as it not worn during a main service.  My husband, being from the older generation, use the scripture “Man shall not wear that pertains to a women and women wear not that pertains to a man.” Deuteronomy 22:5,  1 Timothy 2:9, 1 Peter 3:3 and Zephaniah 1 vs. 8.

Being married to a Bishop you get the word of God preach to you daily.  You have to be humble to the man while he is talking about the word of God even if you don’t agree.  I love God and my husband so I submit.  When the phone rings (and we could be watching a good christian movie) he stops and answers the call.  I feel my quality time has been interrupted.  However, I understand duties call and the work never is done.  At times, I feel for my husband because of the burden he is under.  In his face at times, I see frustration, sadness, and even joy.

My husband always tell me to let him bear the burdens of the church and not interfere even if they say mean things about me or not.  I find that hard to do because, they don’t know the man I have giving my 25 years of life to.  The dream of my life, how can I let others abuse him and stand by.  It is hard.  Nevertheless, I submit to his wishes.

I am sad when my  husband have to go out of town by himself.  You get use to going everywhere together.  I pray that the plane stay in the air, he doesn’t get sick, he takes his medicine, and someone is always there to look out for him, after all he is disable.

When he is away, I feel apart of me is gone.  I am not
complete until I know he is in the house safe.  It a joy to know that I have a husband who have set the example of a man who loves God.  He lives by the Bible and truly love Jesus.

My husband moved back to California where he was born and raised.  He did not want to open a Church and Pastor anymore.  My husband just wanted to travel to his churches back east.  When in the City he wanted to fellowship with  small churches to help them grow.  My husband know the word and God and because many Churches he attend will not let him teach the word of God he decided to do web-cam ministry.  Oh the joy in his face because Preaching the word of God is his passion.
